Replace when the RTU is 15–20+ years old, the compressor or heat exchanger has failed, it uses phased-out R-22 refrigerant, or repair costs exceed half of a new unit. A new high-efficiency RTU with an economizer cuts energy use substantially, and because we fabricate curb adapters in-house, the replacement usually drops onto the existing curb in a single day.
Rooftop quotes are free. Price depends on tonnage, gas or electric heat, efficiency, curb work and crane access, so we survey the roof, measure the existing curb and quote the complete job — unit, curb adapter, crane, gas, electrical and start-up — as one number with no surprises. Maintenance-agreement customers save 15% on parts and labor.
Yes — it is a specialty. Restaurant kitchens need exhaust hoods, make-up air and dining-room HVAC to work as one balanced system; because we design and fabricate hoods, install make-up air units and service rooftop units, one company owns the whole airflow problem. Established accounts get a 2-hour emergency response when a unit fails during service.

A make-up air unit brings tempered fresh air into a kitchen to replace what the exhaust hood removes. Chicago code requires it for most commercial hoods; without it, doors are hard to open, the dining room is drafty and the hood does not capture properly.
